My Favourite Things - Holiday Edition
Friends, the holiday season is in full swing so I thought I would share a few of my favourite things, in case you need a little inspiration to get into the festive mood.
1.) Dog walks in the snow. If you don't have a dog, that's ok. You can bring a friend, a child or just go by yourself. There is something wonderfully soothing about being outside in nature and going for a walk to nowhere in particular, without feeling rushed or pressured to accomplish any particular thing.
Dogs have a wonderful way of bringing us back to the moment. Not worrying about yesterday or tomorrow. Just being here now. Even if you don't love winter weather, give a winter walk a try. (If your dog needs joint support, like mine, consider adding daily omega 3 or Dog Ease to their diet.)
2.) FOOD! Even though I have some dietary restrictions, I don't let that stop me from enjoying holiday food. The key is to plan ahead because I can't always eat the same things everyone else has, but I can always find a version that is equally delicious and festive.

3.) Essential Oils! Once the house gets closed up for the colder season, it doesn't take long before the smell of wet dog & dirty gym clothes starts to hang in the air. Not exactly the vibe I'm going for when I'm hosting holiday guests.
I love essential oils to clean the air, soothe my nervous system and uplift the atmosphere.
Pro Tip: To safely diffuse with small children and pets in the house, always avoid using essential oils in an enclosed room that pets & kids can not move out of freely. And keep a window cracked - the essential oils will circulate better and be safer for sensitive bodies if they are well circulated with fresh air flow.
